Well, it may seem that no one will be taking a trip in 2009, but they will. Vacation travel is a global industry and airlines are ready to take us anywhere we want to go. Furthermore, there may be some good travel deals.  However, this blog is about the products that make travel easier and less stressful. A key way to avoid stress, other than remembering photo ID prior to leaving for the airport, is to prevent packed bottles from leaking in the new luggage or suitcase purchased this season in hopes for a nice vacation to someplace warm.  Here are some tips to keep the clothes clean during air travel.

1. Burp the bottles. Air trapped inside can cause leaks during air pressure changes.

2. Use footwear to protect the fragile items. Slip perfume bottles into socks and then slide into shoes.

3.  Use the power of plastic wrap. To minimize leaks, put some plastic between the cap and bottle, such as a shampoo and conditioner bottle.

4. Use the nooks and crannies. Carry on luggage is reinforced near the edges and corners. These locations help provide extra support and protection for fragile items.

5. Finally, remember the 3-1-1 rule.  Three ounce bottles in one quart bags.
