Tips for buying your first Airsoft Gun

Posted by kblackmore On January - 5 - 2009

Before going out and spending $200-$300+ dollars on a new airsoft gun, I thought I would point out a few tips.

  1. Buy reputable brands!  These include: Tokyo Marui, Classic Army, G&G, G&P…  If you stick to one of these brands you know you will be getting a quality gun that will last you a long time.
  2. Upgrading.  Whether you are a novice your expert, you WILL eventually want to upgrade you gun, either for faster shooting and/or more accuracy.  When going about this contact a knowledgeable person.  Don’t do it yourself!  Most airsoft guns, while on the outside are nice and solid, the inside is made of pop-metal and lots of little parts.  Do yourself a favor and save yourself a headache, frustration and have a airsoft shop, or someone who has done MANY upgrades do it for you!
  3. Buy wisely, with all the “extras” out there for your gun.  Just remember one thing.  The player makes the gun, not the gun making the player in airsoft.  Even with all the fancy add-ons, upgrades, and gear, you are still shooting a round ball out of a barrel.  Kind of reminds me of Civil War technology here…
  4. The below link is for some of the Tokyo Marui Model mentioned above:
